Built in 2005 to our own design, our spacious and comfortable house is open all the year for friendly and professional bed and breakfast or half board accommodation. The open plan ground floor living area leads onto a covered terrace and an open patio overlooking the private swimming pool. The large grassed garden with several quiet seating areas and picnic tables leads down to the river Aude .  Arriving in Winter?  The beautiful, modern and stylish wood burning stove makes the comfy and restful sitting room cosy too... and the under-floor central heating ensures it stays that way.

The guest accommodation of 3 bedrooms, either double, twin or a twin/triple, and a large shared shower room, is situated on the first floor. All rooms have excellent views of the foothills and the twin bedrooms overlook the garden, river and pool.

The centre of Quillan is a gentle 10 minute stroll away and offers shops, bars, restaurants, banks, grocers and greengrocers, twice weekly markets and frequent (mostly free) entertainment.

Other local activities include peaceful walks in the forest, cycling and rambling in summer, skiing and snowboarding in winter and fishing, kayaking, white water rafting and swimming for all you water babies. Watch - or join in - the local rugby, football and boules matches, book horse riding with the local stables or make a picnic of the excellent local food and wines and enjoy it on the riverbank.

The surrounding area 'Aude' is an area of outstanding beauty, all nature is here: rugged coastlines and sandy beaches, mountains, lakes and rivers, wide open plains, beautiful towns and little provincial villages. There are many Cathar castles to explore as well as local museums, animal parks and the beautiful medieval walled city of Carcassonne is only 45 minutes away.
